The largest implementing international NGO for microfinance in the world, BRAC launched its activities in Myanmar in 2013, and in May 2014, Brac Myanmar received a license to operate in Myanmar. BRAC has offices in Yangon, Bago and Yangon, with six branch offices spread across these regions. Pursuant to a methodology used all over the world, BRAC offers two types of loan products. Its micro-loans are exclusively designed for women with income-generating activities. Somewhat larger micro-enterprise loans are designed for small entrepreneurs who need capital to expand their existing businesses.
