Loan Insurance Scheme (LIS) & LIS+

The LIS helps companies secure trade finance loans from Participating Financial Institutions by insuring the institutions against insolvency risks of the company. Loans are underwritten by commercial insurers and a portion of the insurance premium is supported by the Government. The scheme also comprises of Loan Insurance Scheme Plus (LIS+) whereby the Government underwrites loans that are beyond the capacity of commercial insurers.

SME Talent Programme

The SME Talent Programme (STP) aims to help local SMEs attract talents from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Polytechnics and Universities, through student internships, study sponsorship and fresh hire training. SMEs registered with SME Centre@SMF will be accorded the assistance to facilitate and realise their endeavour to attract and recruit local talents from Universities, Polytechnics and ITEs to fulfil their manpower requirements. SMEs are eligible for up to 70% funding support covering the internship stipend.

Enterprise Training Support Grant

The Enterprise Training Support (ETS) grant is a financial assistance scheme by the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) that aims to help companies: raise employees’ productivity and skills levels, attract and retain valued employees by developing good Human Resource (HR) and management systems and practices tied to training, attract and retain valued employees by benchmarking compensation and benefits to market rates

WorkPro by TAFEP

The WorkPro programme is a tripartite programme jointly developed by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). WorkPro offers your organisation funding to hire, train and retain mature employees and back-to-work locals, develop and implement job redesign, good age management and work-life practices to motivate and retain your best employees. If your new hires are eligible for WorkPro, they will also receive incentives to help them adjust to their new jobs and encourage them to stay on with their jobs. WorkPro is only applicable to local companies registered in Singapore, and Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Residents.

Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) by the National Research Foundation (NRF)

This is an initiative started in 2008 under the National Framework for Innovation and Enterprise program. Under the TIS, the NRF commits to co-invest up to 85 percent of investment (up to 500,000 SGD, or approximately 360,000 USD per company) into a Singapore based-start up. The partnering Technology Incubator is required to co-invest the remaining 15 percent of investment, as well as provide mentorship and guidance.

Diversity Action Committee (DAC)

The Diversity Action Committee (DAC) aims to raise awareness of the importance of board diversity and will define best practices in search criteria and processes relating to board appointments in Singapore. DAC is in partnership with five executive search firms in Singapore to launch a set of best practices for board appointments and board diversity.
