Cambodia’s Ministry of Women’s Affairs (MoWA) was created to facilitate gender mainstreaming across the government and to inspire private sector initiatives that promote gender equality. In 2013, the MoWA unveiled its Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Acceleration Framework for Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment, underscoring its belief that women’s economic empowerment is a policy issue inextricable from key MDGs in poverty reduction, health, and education.
