IE Singapore is a member economy government agency spearheading the overseas growth of Singapore-based companies and promoting international trade. In 2013, IE Singapore assisted over 22,000 SMEs in their internationalization drive. More than 5,000 companies benefitted from incentive schemes of grants and financing to develop internationalization capabilities and manpower, access financing and grow overseas markets. As a result of IE’s assistance schemes, these companies secured a total of 775 million SGD (approx. 570 million USD) of trade and project financing from banks, and 40.5 million SGD (approx. 30 million USD) of government grants. The GCP provides assistance to companies going overseas by supporting them in building internal capabilities, manpower development, gaining market access and gaining access to financing.
