The WorkPro programme is a tripartite programme jointly developed by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). WorkPro offers your organisation funding to hire, train and retain mature employees and back-to-work locals, develop and implement job redesign, good age management and work-life practices to motivate and retain your best employees. If your new hires are eligible for WorkPro, they will also receive incentives to help them adjust to their new jobs and encourage them to stay on with their jobs. WorkPro is only applicable to local companies registered in Singapore, and Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Residents.

Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) by the National Research Foundation (NRF)
This is an initiative started in 2008 under the National Framework for Innovation and Enterprise program. Under the TIS, the NRF commits to co-invest up to 85 percent of investment (up to 500,000 SGD, or approximately 360,000 USD per company) into a Singapore based-start up. The partnering Technology Incubator is required to co-invest the remaining 15 percent of investment, as well as provide mentorship and guidance.
Diversity Action Committee (DAC)
The Diversity Action Committee (DAC) aims to raise awareness of the importance of board diversity and will define best practices in search criteria and processes relating to board appointments in Singapore. DAC is in partnership with five executive search firms in Singapore to launch a set of best practices for board appointments and board diversity.
Diversity Task Force regarding Women on Boards (DTF)
Founded in late 2012, the Diversity Task Force (DTF) was set up by the then Minister of State, Ministry of Social and Family Development, to examine the state of gender diversity on boards in Singapore, as well as its impact on corporate performance and governance. The DTF is comprised of industry leaders from the private and people sectors. In April 2014, the DTF launched its report, “Gender Diversity on Boards: A Business Imperative.”
The Tripartite Alliance for Fair & Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP)
This alliance works in partnership with employer organizations, unions and the government to create awareness and facilitate the adoption of fair, responsible and merit-based employment practices. TAFEP provides tools and resources, including training workshops, advisory services, and educational materials, to help organizations implement fair employment practices.
Plug-In@Blk71 (Block 71)
This is a startup complex resulting from a 2011 joint initiative by National University of Singapore (NUS) Enterprise, the Media Development Authority and Singtel (a telecommunications company) to aggregate a cluster of entrepreneurs. Block 71 has built up a strong innovation and entrepreneurship community, where over 100 entrepreneurs, investors, developers and mentors within the interactive digital media space are within close proximity to each other. Block 71 is a common platform where different stakeholders in a business venture can meet and be connected together. In January 2015 it was announced that the startup complex would be expanded to five more blocks, and will house 750 startups by 2017 under a common complex called JTC LaunchPad @ one-north (LaunchPad). LaunchPad is collaboration between JTC Corporation and SPRING Singapore, which are government agencies in charge of industrial development and economic growth. The new complex will also house the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) center.
IT Hub
The IT Hub was launched in 2001 by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations through Infocom Development Authority of Singapore’s E-Ambassador program. They offer 50 classes to teach students basic computer skills like Microsoft Word, simple image editing, putting together PowerPoint slides, composing and sending emails, and accessing the Internet. It is equipped with the latest technology, including 20 laptops and the latest software. Volunteers conduct the courses and regularly train more tutors to continue their work. A list of available courses is available on the website. The hub largely services retirees and stay-at-home mothers and wives.
Girls in Tech (GIT) Singapore
Founded in 2007 and based in San Francisco, CA, Girls in Tech is a global nonprofit focusing on the engagement, education and empowerment of influential women in technology and entrepreneurship.Girls in Tech offers a variety of resources and tools for women to supplement and further their professional aspirations. Our programs include GIT University (GIT U), GIT360 Labs, XChange, Catalyst Conference, AMPLIFY Business Pitch Competition, GIT Mentorship Program (GIT M), D+D Day and various others. The group also hosted a Design and Development Day in collaboration with Google and ThoughtWorks which was an opportunity to discuss design and development ideas.
The Hub Singapore
The Hub is Singapore’s largest community of entrepreneurs, creatives and techies. They are a co-working space and community located in the heart of Singapore’s museum, arts and design precinct. The Hub Singapore offers mentorship, incubation, workshops, events, networking and corporate innovation labs. Participants, drawn from across sectors, connect, mentor, and create learning opportunities through their participation. The Hub Singapore joins a network of 60 global hubs with 7,000 members and was the first Hub to open in Asia, and is active in supporting women entrepreneurs, including hosting the 2012 Singapore Women Startup Weekend. Other programs include a social entrepreneurship bootcamp which provides current or aspiring entrepreneurs with an opportunity to learn how to create a social impact venture and meet likeminded individuals.
